Renew, Reuse, Re-bi-cycle

13 Apr

Love to bike when i’m around the city, but it presents a couple of problems. There’s navigating the scary traffic, dodging pedestrians, and it’s always a pain finding a place to lock up our bikes. But just in time for summer, an architecture firm in Seoul has created a brilliant new solution for urban bicycle storage.

Manifesto’s Bike Hangers are totally recycled, human-powered structures that would take advantage of unused space all over the city.

They’re simple, eco-friendly, and yeah – they look pretty cool too. Fingers crossed this awesome idea makes it!

Let The Children Techno (remixed by Busy P and DJ Mehdi)

I don’t keep up with Ed Banger Records as much as I should, so it was a surprise to me when I found out just now that they released a 20-track mixtape called Let The Children Techno featuring some of their line-up of artists and some of their best friends. Like most of their music and remixes, I’m sure I’ll love this one for a long time. You know what to do if you want to listen! The album is on Amazon for less than $10!

DesignSponge posted this funny poster created by Pia, Erin, and Yvette about when and how to properly give credit for an image or graphic online. This looks nice, why aren’t they selling this? 🙂

PS: I wonder how many Tumblrs went ahead and reposted this without any link back to the creators.

Retro appliance orchestra

Michael Petermann somehow got his hands on a bunch of retro kitchen appliances and rigged them together to create a completely automated orchestra. Blenders, saws, razors, mixers, blow dryers, fans, and much more all make up this vintage kitchen orchestra. Listen to that mechanical hum!

Matt Stuart’s underground street photography is funny. He’s got a great ability to capture details that people might not otherwise see. You’ll see what I mean in the picture above — when you see it you’ll know. [via]
