KiD CuDi & Dot Da Genius on UStream

31 Jan

In what could only be described as a marthon ustream session, Kid Cudi and Dot Da Genius stayed on for over 7 hours last night. To celebrate his birthday, Cudi, Dot and crew played on various games on Xbox Live with fans while ustreaming the entire thing.

During the beginning portion of the Ustream, Cudi previewed the first two singles from the upcoming Wizard album for the lucky fans who had tuned in. “Perfect Is the Word” (previously known as Runaway) will be the first single and you can expect it in the next month or so. Following that up as the second single will be a previously unheard track titled “Rocket”.

Missing Conor Oberst and Co? Luckily, you don’t have to wait too long to hear Bright Eyes back in action again.

Although it’s been several years since their last record, according to critics, their newest album, The People’s Key, is their best yet.

But don’t just take their word for it. Listen to it in its entirety here!

The Parties Underneath Paris

31 Jan

Photo: Stephen Alvarez

National Geographic takes a tour of some of the extensive underground tunnels and catacombs hidden beneath the city of Paris. The catacombs still hold many human remains, some dating back 1200 years, and other parts of the tunnels have become underground party scenes for those who know how to get there.

The pictures are worth taking a look at and you can use this interactive map to help you start your expedition if you plan on finding these underground parties in Paris. Overall, pretty frightening but really cool. I want to go. [via]

Hasselblad H4D-50 vs Canon 1Ds Mark III

31 Jan

Only because this interests me as a photographer… I am a Nikon girl, but nonetheless –  AKEL Studio did a comparison of the Hasselblad H4D with a 50MP digital back and the top of the line Canon DSLR, the 1Ds Mark III. The video is kind of long and technical (you’ve been warned).

Moment 4 Life – Nicki Minaj Official Video

28 Jan

Check out the premiere of Nicki Minaj’s new “Moment 4 Life” video featuring Drake.

The video was helmed by director Chris Robinson and features the on-screen couple getting super close.

“Obviously, Drake and I, we’ve played around so much with the whole marriage thing and stuff like that, so people have come to be kind of intrigued about us and it’s why we’re shooting the video together,” Nicki told MTV. “So I was like, there has to be some sort of romantic storyline. It’s Drake and me.”

The music video premiered Thursday night, January 27, 2011 @ 7:54 PM ET, on MTV (with an interview) but only for US viewers, luckily I found a way around that.
