The Beatles, Forever.

29 Dec

The Beatles have broken tons of records, but here’s a new one.

I hear that the famed Abbey Road zebra crossing in London has officially gained National Preservation Status- meaning, nobody is allowed to build anything on top of it.

It’s a status usually reserved for historical monuments, but, as Minister for Tourism and Heritage John Penrose put it, “This London zebra crossing is no castle or cathedral but, thanks to the Beatles and a 10 minute photo-shoot one August morning in 1969, it has just as strong a claim as any to be seen as part of our heritage.”

Are there any historic musical locations in America that should get the same treatment?
