The Original Swing Street in Harlem

14 Nov

PBS’s video series on New York City current events and history is back with a new video from The City Concealed about the boom of the early jazz era in Harlem, NY during the prohibition era.

If you visited the area today (133rd Street) you wouldn’t really know that such musical history once existed on this block. It’s now mostly residential buildings. But as you’ll see in the video above, some relics and places dating back to the 20’s and 30’s still exist if you look out for them. NEAT.
